Maurice C. "Morris" Hunt (Seymour)'s Obituary
Maurice C. “Morris” Hunt, age 81, a life-long resident of Seymour, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at Cox South Hospital. Mr. Hunt was born March 14, 1936 in Seymour to Chloe “Oleta” Hunt Berry. He had been a jack of all trades and held several jobs in his lifetime, some of them being a railroad employee and a plumber. He was raised by his grandparents Joseph L. & Eunice M. (Davis) Hunt as his mother was a very hard worker. She had been a bookkeeper for Williams’ Grocery and a seamstress then machine operator for H.D. Lee until she retired in the mid 1990’s. He lived with and cared for his mother in her later years. He also served his country in the United States Army.
Maurice enjoyed going to Gun Shows and trading guns and knives, it was there he met his buddy Jackie Holman and wife Jearildine of Ava, MO. He is also survived by a cousin and her husband Donna & Steve Young.
Maurice was preceded in death by his mother Oleta in 2014; his sister Janice Hopkins and his nephew Jeff Hopkins.
