Max Miles (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Eldon “Max” Miles of Bolivar, Mo went to be with our Lord and Savior on October 8, 2015. He was born March 14, 1945 in Springfield, Mo. His wife, Ann, was by his side in their home at the time of his passing. He was 70 years old.
Max made a career in sales and was instrumental in assisting with startup businesses throughout the US – Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, California to name a few. His eventual retirement allowed for his favorite pastime – GOLF!
A favorite for Max and Ann was their frequent travels in their motor home. This eventually brought them to Palm Desert where they made it their permanent residence for 17 years before returning to Bolivar in 2005.
Max had many interests, but golfing was high on his list. When his health prevented him from playing, Max could be seen riding in his golf cart conversing with the golfers he found on the Silo Ridge Golf Course.
An unexpected highlight came in 2003 when Max had the opportunity to connect with his daughter who by this time had three grown children of her own. It changed him and it became a new positive focus in his life. Max and Ann quickly embraced the family and more importantly, the family embraced them. In 2005, Max and Ann retired and moved from Palm Desert, California to Bolivar in order to be near his daughter, Melanie. Within the ten years of moving back to Bolivar, marriages and the birth of eight great grandchildren became the new norm to his life. Max could not have been happier.
Another joy for Max was a renewed relationship with his nephew, Scott Miles and his two sons, Zach and Jacob “Boo”. A special bond developed and each year’s Christmas dinner with his nephews became a cherished holiday tradition.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Maxine, and his brother Harold “Sonny” Miles, Jr.
Max is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ann Condren Miles of the home; his daughter Melanie Welsh and her husband Marty of Aldrich; his three grandchildren and their spouses, Amy Johnston and Jeremiah of Nixa; Kristin Blair Vaughn and Bruce of Bolivar; Jaimie Blair and Brittany of Pleasant Hope. He was a loving “Pops” to eight great grandchildren: Jordan and Jake Johnston; Zander, Kollin, Keatin, and Abigail Vaughn; and Dylan and Lily Blair. We would be remiss not to mention Max’s beloved nephew Scott Miles of Bolivar and his two sons, Zach and “Boo”.
