Maxine Barger's Obituary
Maxine Barger, daughter of Ezra and Margaret Pearl “Maggie” Ashford Barger, was born June 15, 1922 in Golconda, Illinois. She departed this life Saturday, July 26, 2008 in Windsor Estates, Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, one month and eleven days. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary White and Velma Wardrop. Survivors include a nephew, Jim White, of Round Lake, Illinois; a niece, Joan Thrasher, of Caldwell, West Virginia; several great-nieces and nephews and many friends. Maxine was raised in Illinois and spent most of her adult life in Evanston, Illinois, where she worked as a medical secretary. In 1997, she retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. She had been a member of the Eastern Star in Evanston, Illinois for many years. Her favorite pastime was fishing and she loved spending time on the lake. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Maxine was a loving aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. She will be missed by many who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Chapel in Chicago, IL. No formal visitation will be held, however friends may call from 2-4 pm Wesnesday at the funeral home.A memroial has been established to Windsor Estates courtyard fund and may be left at the funeral home.Services are under the direction of Allee- Holman- Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
