Maxine Hogue's Obituary
Maxine Claudeen Hogue, daughter of Robert Allison and Effie Mae Walker Decker, was born August 30, 1926, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, September 1, 2007, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, and one day. On September 22, 1952, she was united in marriage to Delbert Lee Hogue, and to this union two daughters and two sons were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delbert, on October 4, 1991; a son, Delbert Lee Hogue, Jr.; three brothers, Robert, Chester, and Raymond Decker; and two sisters, Sylvia Lewis, and Goldie Rogers. Maxine is survived by two daughters, Diana Wilson, and Donna Jones, both of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Sonny Moodie, of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Twyla, Laticia, Maria, Eric, Michael, and Darren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace Hunter, of Liberty Hill, Texas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area. After she and Delbert were united in marriage, they made their home near Lebanon for most of their married years. Throughout her life she was a devoted and hard working homemaker to her husband and family. Maxine had made her profession of belief in Christ and followed the Baptist faith. She had attended the Second Baptist Church of Lebanon. In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors where she liked growing beautiful flowers, camping and fishing. She loved any excuse for planning and having a party, especially family birthday parties, 4th of July celebrations, and all the basic holidays. Her family was very dear to her and she greatly enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maxine was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to St. John's Heritage Foundation/Curry Cancer Center may be made through the funeral home.
