May Oliven Decker (Camdenton)'s Obituary
May O. Decker, age 103, of Camdenton, Missouri passed away on Friday, June, 18, 2021 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born on May 1, 1918 in Harrisonville, Missouri, the daughter of Claus and Minnie Schmidt.
On August 18, 1938, she was united in marriage to Jewell Glenn Decker in Columbia, Missouri.
May spent the majority of her life as a lady tailor, and owned and operated May’s Cleaners in Elizabeth, New Jersey before moving to Camdenton in 1977 with her husband.
She is a member of Community Christian Church where she sewed and helped design costumes for various productions. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, making clown dolls, and cooking for family dinners.
She was a resident at Camdenton Windsor Estates since 2013 and attributes her long life to getting plenty of sleep, a healthy diet, and not having any children.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, a good church friend Cindy Waters, all who loved her dearly.
She is preceded by her husband, Jewell Decker; her sisters, Mary Perkins, and Minnie Ruth Schmidt.
A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Community Christian Church with Rev. William Brown and Rev. Kaitlin Koeller officiating. Visitation will take place from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the church. Interment will take place in Hopewell Union Church Cemetery in Barnett, Missouri. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Community Christian Church of Camdenton, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
