MELISSA JO STEINMARK
Melissa Jo Steinmark, daughter of Tommy Joe and Carolyn Sue Medlin Medlock, was born August 19, 1980, in Springfield, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, January 12, 2012, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of thirty-one years, four months, and twenty-three days.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Thomas N. Medlock.
Melissa is survived by her fiancé, Bobby Joe Thomas, and his son, Austin Thomas, of Lebanon, Missouri; her parents, Joe and Carol Medlock, of Branson, Missouri; three sisters, Marianne Watson, and her husband, Jamie, of Qulin, Missouri Denise Shaver, and her husband, Shane, of Grovespring, Missouri, and Jeanette Rust, and her husband, Chris, of Marshfield, Missouri; a brother, T. J. Medlock, and Ashley, of Conway, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; her maternal grandparents, Ted and Connie Medlin, of Qulin, Missouri; her paternal grandmother, Leona Medlock, of Rader, Missouri; a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Rader community and graduated from Conway High School in the Class of 1999. For the last eleven years, Melissa had made her home in the Lebanon area and worked as a sales associate at the Wal Mart Store.
Melissa had attended Oak Grove Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church near Rogersville, Missouri.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and quilting. She had a love for nature and particularly liked butterflies. She was always happy and joyful and willing to put others first. Her family was very important to her.
Melissa was a loving fiancée, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, and niece, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and many friends.
