Melissa Rae Orrell (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Melissa Orrell, 65, loving wife of Rick Orrell, passed away on December 16, 2023. Rick and Melissa were married on April 4, 2005 and shared almost 20 years of marriage together. Melissa was born in Harrison, Arkansas on October 17, 1958 to Martha Nell Lawrence and Bertie Ray Thomason. She graduated from Willard High School and was a Labor and Delivery Surgical Technician at Cox South for nearly 40 years.
Melissa was the proud mother of Ivy Gardner and step-mother to TaJanna Osborn (Orrell).
Melissa and Rick enjoyed going to auctions, hunting, and fishing. Melissa was also a talented seamstress, quilter, and cook. Melissa will be remembered for her ornery sense of humor, generosity, and the abundance of love and kindness she had for everyone in her life.
Melissa is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, and father-in-law Elwayne Harris. Melissa is survived by her loving husband, her sweet boy Jake, parents Martha Nell Lawrence (Michael Lawrence), Bertie Ray Thomason (Rosemary Thomason), mother-in-law Shirley Harris, daughter Ivy Gardner, step-daughter TaJanna Osborn (Aaron Osborn), grandchildren Owen and Blake Osborn, sisters Suzie Pellecchia and Amy Dahle-Melsaether (Darren Dahle-Melsaether), nephews Zach, Jacob, and Seth Dahle-Melsaether. Brother-in-laws Russell and Randy Orrell and their families, and a growing number of great nephews and nieces.
The memorial services for Melissa will be held at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar Missouri, on January 12, 2024. Visitation at 10:00am, service at 11:00am, and burial following. A light lunch will be provided following the burial at 1:30pm (Butler Funeral Home) for friends and family to gather in fellowship and share memories.
