Melvin Dean Coleman (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Melvin Dean Coleman, son of Clell and Betty Jeffries Coleman, was born July 4, 1950, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, February 26, 2020, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, seven months, and twenty-two days.
His parents preceded him in death.
Melvin is survived by a daughter, Cecilia Warren, of Kansas City, Missouri; a son, John Coleman, of Camdenton, Missouri; a number of grandchildren; two sisters, Vera Howe, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Kay Rector, of Lebanon, Missouri; his step-mother, Carol S. Coleman, of Lebanon, Missouri; a step-brother, Keith Mahan, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School. He worked at Detroit Tool for a time and then as a cook at Western Sizzlin’ Steak House for a few years. He had been employed as a machinist at Copeland Corporation, which is now Emerson Electric, for twenty-five years.
Melvin believed in God and had established his own personal relationship with his Lord and Savior.
In his spare time he enjoyed playing the lottery, watching television and reading. He had an outgoing personality, was witty, and was a good friend to many. He was very caring and was a patron of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. His family was very important to him.
Melvin was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son, and was a good friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
