Melvin McCoy (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Melvin Mylow McCoy, 88, of Halfway, Mo passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Northwood Hills Care Facility in Humansville, MO.
Melvin was born November 12, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ralph Johnson and Garnett McCoy. On February 28, 1953 he was united in marriage to his loving wife Barbara, and to this union four children were born.
Melvin was a long time truck driver, but his true passion in life was working with cattle and horses. He had a gift for rodeo which he participated in for many years.
Melvin is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his son Melvin Michael McCoy; son Ross Allen McCoy, and son-in-law Jerry Locke, as well as granddaughter-in-law Erika McCoy, great-granddaughter Michaela, great-grandson Coltyn, and great-granddaughter Mackenzie.
Melvin is survived by three children: Terri Locke of Halfway, MO, Ralph McCoy and wife Crystal of Bolivar, MO, and Jim McCoy and wife Charlotte of Halfway, MO; as well as 10 grandchildren: Jody, Brandon, Jamie, Joshua, Loralie, Kati-Jo, Travis, Ben, Tye, and Bryce and 27 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law: Robert Miller and wife Janet of Goshen, IN, and Gordon Miller of Mishawaka, IN; two sisters-in-law: Beverly Deter, and Diana Coleman and husband Robert all of Goshen, IN; as well as a host of other friends and family.
A memorial visitation will be held for Melvin on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 10 AM to 12 noon at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO. Memorial donations may be made in Melvin’s honor to Equi-librium Therapy Center at 1148 S. Courtney Lane Rogersville, Missouri 65742.
