Melvin Rippee (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mr. Melvin Fred John Rippe, age 84 of Morrisville, MO passed away at 11:55 AM Thursday, October 16, 2014 at his home after a lingering illness.
He was born on June 22, 1930 in Atwood, KS the son of Emil Fred Rippe and Leora Emma Christina (Jahnsan) Rippe.
As a young boy, Melvin, like many farm boys of his day, was taken out of school at the beginning of the 8th grade to help on the family farm. He was a retired farmer and Master Mechanic. Melvin was also a member of the Morrisville Fire Department and had donated a truck and land for the Fire Station #1. His hobby was restoring old tractors and making rolling pins out of exotic woods.
Surviving is his wife Loraine Rippe, of the couple’s home, four daughters, Margaret McCoy of Wauneta, NE; Barbara Rippe of Morrisville, MO; Shirley Jones of Springfield, MO; and Sharon Hahn and husband Richard of Springfield, MO. Two sons, Marvin Rippe of Flippin, AR and Raymond Rippe and wife Teresa of Morrisville, MO; Also one brother, Arnold Rippe and wife Nelda of Roggen, CO. 16 Grandchildren, 42 Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many friends.
