Meredith "Sue" Clouse (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Meredith Sue Clouse, age 77, passed away November 15, 2019 at her
home in Mansfield Mo surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 6, 1942 in Cedar Gap, Missouri to Garried and Virginia
(Matney) Dedmon.
On December 7, 1961 Sue married her high school sweetheart, James
Roy Clouse. Together they had five daughters. Sue was a homemaker
and helped on the farm. Later, after they quit milking, she went to
college and then started working at NASM in Springfield and then
retired in 2015 from the Ozarks Correctional Center in Fordland.
Sue gave her life to Christ at the age of 15 at the Mansfield Nazarene
Church. She was involved in church leadership for many years and was
a prayer warrior for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, G.A. and Ginnie Dedmon,
and two daughters, Sherry Sharp and Jill Clouse.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Clouse of Mansfield; one brother,
Bud Dedmon, and wife Sue of Marshfield; a sister, Beth Dedmon of
Mansfield; three daughters, Karen Carter and her husband Willie of
Springfield, Jan Hobbs and her husband Kenneth of Hobe Sound
Florida, and Julie Roy and her husband Randall of Mansfield; a son-in-
law, Randal Sharp of Springfield; 15 grandchildren, Jessica, Elizabeth,
Matthew, Zachary, Amanda, Clouse, Levi, Katherine, Caroline, Tyree,
James, Abigail, Andrew, Grace and Raine; ten great-grandchildren,
Aliyah, Aiden, Payton, William, Camden, Jaxson, Charlotte, Harlow,
Bentley and Lena; and several nieces and nephews.
Sue’s favorite past times were shopping and coffee with her girls,
treating the grandkids, Branson trips with their best friends Billy and
Dorothy, bus trips, cruises and most of all, family fishing trips to the
lake to catch crappie and eat “soul food”. She was always looking
forward to the next trip to the lake.
She enjoyed any time she could spend with her family, and would go
and do about anything, anywhere, anytime just to be with them. She
loved them unconditionally and they knew Mom or Nanny was there no
matter what they were going through, she prayed for them daily, and
never stopped believing in them. She leaves behind a void that no one
else can ever fill and will be missed beyond measure.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 in
the Mansfield First Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow in the
Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday,
November 22, 2019 in Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Mansfield.
Memorial contributions may be made the American Cancer Society.
