Merrill Marlow
Merrill Fay Marlow, son of Merwin and Floy Salmon, was born April 24, 1934, in Lone Rock Iowa. He departed this life Sunday, December 18, 2022, at his home in Phillipsburg, Missouri at the age of eighty-eight years, seven months, and twenty four days.
On September 3, 1996, he was united in marriage to Betty Lou Smith, and together they loved and cared for each other until Merrill’s passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merwin and Floy Salmon Marlow.
Merrill is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; two sons, Scot Marlow and partner Stacey Everett of Blue Springs, Missouri and Terry Marlow and wife Angela of Glenwood, Iowa; one daughter, Chris Konfrst of Glenwood, Iowa; a step-daughter, Tammy Trey of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, April Schoening and husband Joey, Camille Marlow, Samanha Marlow, Sarah Marlow, Ashley Konfrst, and Adam Konfrst; and four great-grandchildren, Cadyn Lichty, Grey Schoening, Graham Schoening, and Ezekiel Marlow. He is also survived by a brother, Kern Marlow.
Merrill was raised in Iowa where he was raised working on the farm. After moving away from the farm, Merrill worked on road construction crews paving the streets of Iowa. He later moved to the Omaha area where he worked several years as a butcher. Upon moving to Missouri, Merrill spent several years as a welder for Low Boats.
Merrill was a dedicated Harley-Davidson fan. He spent many weekends on long rides, and was a member of the Rangers Motorcycle Club in Iowa. He also spent many hours in his wood-working shop, where he especially loved building bird houses.
Merrill was also very dedicated to his family. He showed great care and love for his children, raising them until their teenage years. His family meant everything to him, and his love and tenderness will be sorely missed by them and all those who knew him.
A visitation for Merrill Marlow will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 10 AM-12 noon at Holman-Howe funeral Home in Lebanon, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Donations may be made through the funeral home.
