Merry Ann Howell (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Merry Ann Howell, daughter of James and Betty F. Cavalier Spangler, was born October 11, 1946, in Naperville, Illinois. She departed this life Friday, April 25, 2014, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-seven years, six months, and fourteen days.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and a brother, James "Bud" Spangler, Jr..
Merry is survived by her husband, James, of the home; five sons, Mike Nicholson, and his fiancée, Julie Anne Ferrari, of Lebanon, Missouri, Kenny Howell, and his wife, Judy, of Nevada, Texas, Kevin Howell, of Royse City, Texas, Keith Howell, of Wylie, Texas, and Kris Howell, and his wife, Patty, of Mesquite, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her father, James Spangler, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Illinois, and graduated from high school there. In 1967, she began a career with AT&T and made her home in St. Louis, Missouri. She continued in that employ for thirty years. During this time she was also a devoted homemaker to her family. For five years she lived in the Dallas, Texas area, and then moved to Lebanon, Missouri in 2001 to be closer to her father.
In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors where she enjoyed fishing and caring for her lawn. She liked going to auctions and yard sales, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a very thoughtful person who was always willing to help others.
Merry Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Arrangements for Merry Ann Howell are under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. She will be buried in Crestview Cemetery, in Downers Grove, Illinois.
