Michael Lee Camp (Seymour)'s Obituary
Michael Camp, adored dad, grandpa and great-grandpa, departed this life with loved ones by his side the morning of Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at his son’s residence in Fordland, Missouri. Mike, or ‘Camp’, as he was known to most, was sixty-seven years, nine months and seventeen days of age at his passing.
One of five children, he was born Michael Lee Camp on October 13, 1951, in Springfield, Missouri, to William Carl and Mary Lee (Pepper) Camp. He grew up in Cave Spring, Missouri, and attended Willard schools. Mike worked at Boyd Aluminum Manufacturing Company in Springfield for twenty years, and then Hutchens Industries in Seymour for nearly another twenty years before retiring in 2014.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman and really enjoyed back-roading, hunting, fishing and camping in his spare time. He was a devoted dad and fun-loving grandpa, and spending time with family was most important. Shooting fireworks with grandkids was one of his favorite things.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Camp; two sisters, Nancy Hicks and Carol Camp; and a brother, Keith Camp.
He leaves behind two daughters, Patricia Womack and husband, Tony, of Dogwood, Missouri, and April Kastning and husband, Bobby, of Seymour, Missouri; a son, William Camp and wife, Wendy, of Fordland, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Ashli and Johnny Roscoe, Alisha Womack, Nichole and Justin Colston, Dustin Womack, Branden Womack, Britany and Ethan Young, Shelby Kastning, Austin Womack, Cody Camp, Tyler Camp, and Callie Camp; nine great-grandchildren, Zaren, Kaidon, Kolby, Madison, Westen, Kyler, Ayden, McKynzie, and Easten; a brother, Wyman Camp of Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and many more extended family and dear friends.
Michael Lee Camp was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a loyal brother, caring friend, dedicated employee. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A memorial to the Camp Family has been established and may be left a the funeral home.
