Michael Dean Kastning's Obituary
Michael Dean Kastning, son of Randy Dean and Marsha Lynn (Sees) Kastning, was born August 4, 1982, in Springfield, Missouri. On Thursday, August 14, 2008, at the age of twenty-six years and ten days, he lost his courageous battle against kidney disease, in his home, near Seymour, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father, in September 2006; and his paternal grandfather, Keith Kelly Kastning. Michael is survived by his mother, Marsha Kastning, of Rogersville, Missouri; a sister, Jennifer Lynn Kastning, of Springfield, Missouri; a nephew, Trenton Slayde Ragsdale, of Springfield, Missouri; his paternal grandmother, Ida Mae Kastning, of Seymour, Missouri; his maternal grandparents, Alan and Mildred Sees, of Marshfield, Missouri; a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. He was raised in Seymour and attended Seymour schools. At the age of ten he was diagnosed with kidney disease and received a kidney transplant from his father and six years later one from his mother. He loved his family dearly and had a special relationship with his nephew, Trenton. Michael had made his profession of faith in Christ as a child at the Diggins Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his friends, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. Michael was a kind and caring person with a big heart. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends. Services will be at 1:30 pm Monday August 18, 2008 at the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Seymour. Burial will be in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon 4-5:30 pm under the direction of the Holman- Howe Funeral Home, Seymour, Missouri. Return to top
