He was born and raised in the Lebanon area, and graduated from Lebanon High School. After he and Margaret were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their daughters. Michael owned and operated Hough Machine Shop and Garage for ten years. He then worked for Trans Am Cable for a few years before retiring from Independent Stave Company after ten years.
He greatly enjoyed his work and spent most of his time in his shop. He also liked doing woodworking projects and making jelly. He enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing, floating, and just spending time on the Lake. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandson.
