Michael Floyd Mainer (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Michael Floyd Mainer of Lebanon, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 in Mercy Hospital, Lebanon. He was born October 14, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri to Jasper and Goldie Mainer. At the time of his passing he was seventy-nine years, six months and fourteen days old.
Michael grew up and lived most of his life in Edwardsville, Illinois. On August 28, 1971, he was united in marriage to Lea Catherine Ruehlman.
He served six years in the United States Army Reserves. Michael was a barber and made many long lasting friendships with those who came to get their hair cut on a regular basis. His career as a barber spanned forty-four years in Edwardsville and other communities in the area.
He loved Bennett Spring and the beautiful Ozarks and in 2005, he and Lea moved to Lebanon. He loved to fish and being outdoors enjoying the scenery.
Michael was active in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) groups in Illinois and in Lebanon, as well as Lake of the Ozarks and was a sponsor to many members. His encouragement and devotion touched the lives of many.
He enjoyed being around people, telling fish stories and sharing life experiences. His life rotated around his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Billy and a sister, Alice.
Michael is survived by his wife, Lea; his son, Nathan Michael and his wife Sabrina Savillo of Buckeye, Arizona; his daughter, Lisa Mainer of Edwardsville, Illinois; a sister, Marcy Louise Moss of the state of Illinois; and Andre Williams, who he truly thought of as a son.
Michael was a great friend and a loving and caring husband and father. He made a difference in many lives and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
