Michael Moore's Obituary
Michael Jay Moore, son of Virgil J. Moore, Jr. and Barbara Ruth (Hadley) Moore, was born July 2, 1972, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He departed this life Saturday, March 12, 2011, in Cox Medical Center, South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of thirty-eight years, eight months and ten days.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Virgil Sr. and Edna Moore; his maternal grandparents, Edwin and Eula Hadley; and a nephew Chris Dodson.
Michael is survived by his children, Michael Adam and Kaylee Sueann Moore; his father, Jay Moore and wife, Cindy, of Hartville, MO, his mother, Barbara Moore, of Hartville, MO, a brother, Jeff Moore and wife, Dawn, of Norwood, MO, three nieces, Charity Davis, Kimberly Moore, and Stephanie Riland; two great-nieces, Elisabeth and Sophia Riland; a number of uncles, aunts and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Born in Oklahoma City, the family moved to Hartville when he was four months old. He attended and graduated from Hartville High School with the Class of 1990. He later attended Vatterott College in Springfield, where he received training in heating and air conditioning. Throughout his life he was employed by the Steel Plant in Mansfield, Come Play Toys in Marshfield, Mid-West Products in Strafford, the Copeland Company, and Wal-Mart in Mountain Grove.
Mike had professed his faith in Jesus Christ and had been baptized June 2, 2002. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mansfield. He also had attended the Little Country Church in Hartville. He centered his life around his children. They were his passion and he was very involved with them, especially playing video games with his son. He enjoyed watching football, listening to country music, and collecting baseball cards. NASCAR Racing, WWF Wrestling, and The Dukes of Hazzard held a very special place in his heart.
Michael was a devoted and loving father, a beloved son and brother, a cherished uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. We celebrate his life and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Our love for him will live on in our hearts forever.
Funeral services for Michael Jay Moore will be held Tuesday March 15, 10:00 AM in Holman-Howe Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Moore Cemetery.
A visitation with the family will be held Monday evening March 14, 6:00-8:00 PM in the Chapel.
A memorial to the family has been established, and memorials can be left at the funeral home.
