Your first cousin, Joanne(Sieber) (married to Mahlon)Schreiber says : My family and I wish to express sympathy to Mick's family. I remember the growing up years when all of the cousins got together every Christmas and in the summertime at the reunions in the park (Sieber family reunion.) Mahlon and I enjoyed seeing Mick in Leb,MO on our way to Branson. Enjoyed reminiscing as Mahlon had alot in common with Mick. Both served in Korea during the Conflict. We would appreciate hearing from his family. (1321 Union St. Lancaster PA 17603 717.394.9497) if possible.

I met Mike in 2003 when he was honored as a Distinguished Alumni at Manheim Township High School where I had just been hired. When he found out I had family in Missouri, we became email buddies. One summer after a canoeing trip on the Niangua River, we stopped by his house and he made breakfast for my whole family. He was full of interesting stories and great jokes and his emails always made me laugh. Rest in peace Lt. Col. Phelan, and thank you for your service to our country.
Mike, I am so glad that I got the chance to meet you. You were a special person; you had a great sense of humor, and your service to our country made me admire you so much. Rest in peace.
