Michael G. Pritchard (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Michael Gene Pritchard, son of Charles E. and Georgia C. Swigert Pritchard, was born February 21, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, March 13, 2021, in his home, near Richland, Missouri, at the age of sixty-three years, and twenty days.
On September 3, 2000, he was united in marriage to Kimberly Sue Hungerford, and they shared the last twenty years.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and a daughter, Jennifer Pritchard.
Michael is survived by his wife, Kim, of the home; a daughter, Tiffany Sawyer, of Boonville, Missouri; a son, Michael Pritchard, Jr., of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Karleigh, Layton, Amzie, Nick, and Blake; his father, Charles Pritchard, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Charles Pritchard, and his wife, Connie, of Louisburg, Kansas; a sister, Christina Shively, and her husband, Charles, of Prairie Home, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Kansas City, and graduated from high school there. He worked in construction in the Kansas City area from the age of seventeen, until moving to Fayette, Missouri in 1980. He worked as a Howard County Sheriff’s Deputy for a few years, and then in 1985, transferred to the Fayette Police Department, where he was the Assistant Chief of Police until 1994. Michael and Kimberly moved to Richland, Missouri in 2000, and in 2003, Michael purchased Rawhide Gun and Pawn Shop, and became an accomplished gunsmith until 2018.
He loved guns and enjoyed working on them. He also was a gifted builder and liked building things and tinkering. He possessed a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was very proud of his police service and loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.
Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
