Michael R. Jacobs (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Michael Robert Jacobs, son of Robert C. and Marilyn Sutterquest Jacobs, was born November 6, 1953, in Washington, Missouri.  He departed this life Friday, May 4, 2012, at his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-eight years, five months, and twenty-eight days.
On March 12, 1992, he was united in marriage to Mary L. Spence, and they shared the last twenty years.
His parents preceded him in death.
Michael is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; a son, Christopher Jacobs, and his wife, Galeya, of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kody, Lillian, and Gabriel; his father, Robert Jacobs, of Leslie, Missouri; a brother, Mark Jacobs, of Leslie, Missouri; two sisters, Sue Seaman, and her husband, Allen, of Leslie, Missouri, and Cindy Harvey, and her husband, Bill, of Dover, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Washington and Union, Missouri areas, and graduated from Union High School.  He then obtained an Associate Degree in Art from East Central College.   He entered the military as a young man, and served the United States Navy in a career that spanned twenty years.  He was stationed in Japan, Portugal, Egypt, several locations in Europe and Asia, and stateside in Maryland and Virginia.  He worked as an aircraft mechanic on aircraft carriers for most of the twenty years.  After retiring from the Navy on December 31, 1993, he and Mary made their home in Leslie, Missouri several years. In 2005, the family moved to the Lebanon, Missouri area.
Michael was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lebanon.
In his spare time he enjoyed doing various types of art work and spending time with his grandchildren.  He possessed a delightful sense of humor and had a way of making every person he met feel better.  He was a very affectionate and caring gentleman who loved his family dearly.
Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend.  We celebrate his life and will fondly remember him as a loving family man, a hard worker, and a dedicated patriotic citizen.
