Michael Don Rusk (Hartville)'s Obituary
Michael Don “Mike” Rusk, son of William and Kathleen Rusk, was born on December 15, 1947 in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. He departed this earthly life early Sunday morning, February 28, 2021, in Macomb, Missouri at the age of seventy-three years two months and thirteen days.
Mike worked in many different areas throughout his life; he worked for the railroad, Ford Company and as a grocery stocker before retiring.
On July 7, 1973 Mike married Donna Clevenger in Excelsior Springs, Missouri and she preceded her in death on January 30, 2021. Also preceding him in death were his parents, two grandchildren, Dominc Reed and Koren Reed and a great-grandson, Lucian Teegarden.
Survivors include his daughters, Brandi Reed and her husband James of Mountain Grove, Missouri and Natosha Bennett and her husband Clifton of Macomb, Missouri, four grandchildren; Kaleb Rusk and his fiancé Jessica of North Kansas City, Missouri, Dalton Teegarden and his wife Ashton of Gladstone, Missouri, Logan Baird of Mountain Grove, Missouri and Walker Holbrook of North Carolina, two great-grandchildren, Nikoli and Joslyn Teegarden, other relatives and friends.
Mike grew up in Long Beach, California and after graduating high school he moved to Excelsior Springs, Missouri, where he raised his family. He later moved to Macomb, Missouri to be closer to his daughters.
Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army and the United States Navy before receiving an honorable discharge.
Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, making knives and spending time outdoors; but, most of all, Mike loved his family and friends. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. We celebrate his life and will always cherish the many happy memories he created.
