Michael S. Clark (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Michael Clark, Assurance partner with Ernst & Young office in San Jose, California, passed away Tuesday, July 5th in his home in San Jose. Mike was born and grew up in Mansfield, Missouri and moved to Northern California when he was 10. He attended Humbolt State University and received his master's degree from San Jose State University. He joined Ernst & Young in the San Jose office, where he
spent most of his career, with the exception of several years spent in Paris with the Capital Markets Group. Mike was admitted to the partnership in 1998. When he returned from Paris he joined the Professional Practice Group as the Professional Practice Director for the Pacific Northwest area and subsequently the West. In addition to his great accomplishments in client service, one of Mike's greatest gifts was that of friendship and dedication to those he worked with and his friends at the firm. Many knew Mike as the fun loving, enthusiastic, sarcastic, laughable and always entertaining friend with a quick wit. He brought a lot of laughter and life to just about any situation and was always good for some commentary on just about anything. His spirit and friendship touched many people and will not soon be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carlis and Christeen Newton.
Mike is survived by his mother and step-father Wanda and Russell Taylor; two uncles, Clarence Newton and his wife, Lois, of St. Charles, Missouri, and Carl Gene Newton and his wife, Eleanor, of Kearney, Missouri; several cousins, other relatives and many friends through his work at Ernst & Young.
Mike was a loving son, nephew, cousin, co-worker and friend to many; his humor, laughter and wit will live on forever in our hearts and minds.
