Mildred Acker's Obituary
Mildred Marie Acker, age 70 of Springfield, MO; passed away at 2:25 pm Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO after a sudden illness. She was born in Bolivar, MO on February 9, 1938 the daughter of John Richard Sanders and Della Olive (Boyce) Sanders. She was a homemaker and a member of the Northside Assembly Of God Church in Springfield. Mildred was united in marriage to Norman Acker on June 6, 1952 and they were blessed with three children, Norman, Donna, Michael and an adopted daughter Helen. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. Her favorite thing was living a working for Christ. She taught her family about Christ's love for them and taught them about salvation. She wanted them all to be saved so they could make it to heaven. Mom & Dad always made special time for their kids. If is was going out to eat, taking us skating, decorating and making cookies together, but most of all loving us enough to teach us about Christ. Surviving is her husband Norman L. Acker of the home, two sons, Michael A. Acker and wife Jessica of Springfield, MO; Norman E. Acker and wife Barbara of Aldrich, MO; two daughters, Donna M. Melvin and husband Bernard of Springfield, MO; and Helen M. Barnett and friend Bill White of Weaubleau, MO; also two brothers, George Sanders of Quincy, MO and Robert Sanders of Defiance, OH. Also her 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday November 12, 2008 at the Northside Assembly of God Church in Springfield. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday Evening from 6-7:00 pm at the Funeral Home and 11:00 am Wednesday until service time at the church under the direction of the Butler Funeral Home Bolivar, Missouri.
