Mildred Mae Allen (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mildred Mae (Perry) Allen was born January 4, 1936, near Lebanon, Missouri, to Volla Warren Perry and Thelma Pearl Murphy. She passed away at Lake Regional Hospital and was welcomed into Heaven on Sunday, August 27, 2023.
Mildred lived her entire life in the Lebanon, Missouri area. On January 10, 1951, she married the love of her life and best friend, James Albert Allen. Together they shared fifty-one years of marriage. James passed away May 22, 2002.
Mildred was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Mildred Pauline and Pam Jones; and one sister, Virginia Bradshaw.
She is survived by her son, Rev. Mike Allen and his wife, Nancy of Lebanon, Missouri; one daughter, Sharon Lawrence and her husband, Dennis of Lebanon, Missouri; her sister, Geneva Brown of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, James Perry of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Kristy, Amy, Stacy, Angie, Andrea, Josh and Daniel; eleven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mildred loved her family so very much and enjoyed being a homemaker to her family. She was a wonderful wife and mother and a terrific cook. She raised her children in a Christian home and taught them about God’s love, and to have respect for others.
She professed her faith early in life and was a longtime member of Prosperine Church. She later attended Nazarene Church. She had a deep faith in Jesus Christ and loved her church family.
She had a quiet, gentle personality and would check on people with health issues going on. She had a heart for others and served as a caretaker to her family for those who needed it.
Mildred was known for her wonderful gardening skills and her beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed bird watching. Her indoor hobbies included playing Yahtzee and Dominos.
Her favorite activity was being with her grandchildren. How she loved being a grandmother to them and watching them grow. She loved spending time with them, telling them stories about when she was a child.
Mildred leaves a legacy of Christian love, and obedience to Christ. A legacy that will be honored, cherished and remembered for years to come.
