Mildred D Brownwood (Hartville)'s Obituary
Mildred Donnis Brownwood, daughter of Everett Daniel and Mildred Sophia Adams Hudson, was born February 14, 1929 in Wheatland, Wyoming. She departed this life Monday, February 1, 2016 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, eleven months, and seventeen days.
On October 11, 1949, Mildred was united in marriage to Harold Edward Brownwood, and to this union three sons were born. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years,
Harold, on October 20, 2015; her parents; and two sisters, Harriett Merritt and Winifred Carter.
Mildred is survived by her sons, Neil Brownwood, of Hartville, Missouri, Greg Brownwood and wife Glenda, of North Pole, Alaska, and Mark Brownwood and wife Gena, of Rogersville, Missouri; her
grandchildren, Cheri Weed, Michael Brownwood, Jon Brownwood, Elise Clement, and Katelyn Jones; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Mildred was born in Wyoming and graduated high school in Caldwell, Idaho. She spent time working as an executive secretary until her marriage to Harold. Mildred and Harold spent many years living in the Loveland, Colorado area before moving to Missouri following Harold’s retirement.
Mildred had accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She also served as a Sunday School Teacher in her home church for many years. She was known for her beautiful singing voice, and had a great sense of humor.
In her spare time, Mildred enjoyed sewing and working in ceramics, and was an excellent cook.
Mildred was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends.
