Mildred Busick's Obituary
Mildred Grace Busick, daughter of Frank and Beulah “Babe” Morehouse Reagan, was born March 20, 1924, near Falcon, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, August 9, 2007, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, four months, and nineteen days. On June 10, 1989, she was united in marriage to John James Busick, who preceded her in death on September 6, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eugene “Bud” Reagan; and a sister, Emogene Breakfield. Mildred is survived by a daughter, Helen Brackett, and her husband, Ed, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Richard Blackman, of Lebanon, Missouri; a grandson, Chuck Knight, and his wife, Christy, of Lebanon, Missouri; a granddaughter, Heather Payne, and her husband, Brian, of Lebanon, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Lizzie and Charlie Knight, Lauren and Brandon Carnahan, and Kyle and Taylor Morris; a sister, Helen Parker, of Coweta, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Falcon, Missouri community and was graduated from the Lebanon High School in the Class of 1942. For the next several years, Mildred was a devoted homemaker to her family and lovingly raised her children. During this time she also was co-owner of the Blackman Jewelry Store. Mildred enjoyed traveling with her girl friends over the next few years, and saw many places of interest. Soon after she and Jim were married, they made their home in the Springfield area, and then Mildred returned to Lebanon after Jim’s passing. Mildred made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of First Christian Church of Lebanon. She was a talented artist and greatly enjoyed doing oil paintings. She was very passionate about her artwork and several of her paintings are on display around the community. She belonged to a Lebanon garden club and liked to go square dancing in her spare time. She also had volunteered her time with the Muscular Dystrophy Association at one time. Her family was always very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mildred was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a kind and caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments, and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Lebanon. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
