Mildred Littrell's Obituary
Mildred Faye Littrell, daughter of Thomas Monroe and Annabelle Martin Swyres, was born May 2, 1921, in Midcoe, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, November 19, 2010, in St. John?s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, six months, and seventeen days. On December 19, 1945, she was united in marriage to Victor Littrell, and together they shared sixty years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor, on May 17, 2006; a daughter, Violet Lea; three brothers; and two sisters. Mildred is survived by two daughters, Sandy Wilson, and her husband, Jeff, and Sharon Logan, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Victor Littrell, Jr., of the State of Idaho; two grandchildren, Kevin Hansen, and his wife, Lisa, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Stephanie Cohen, and her husband, Rich, of Livingston, New Jersey; three great-grandchildren, Nathan and Joshua Cohen, and Kensley Hansen; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in Midcoe, Missouri, and was raised in and around St. Louis, Missouri. After she and Victor were married, they made their home in Colorado, and lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, Mildred was a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband and family. In 2002, Mildred and Victor moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and made their home. Mildred was an active member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon, where she enjoyed attending services. She also was involved in the Tom Luthy Small Group. She was a fifty years member of the Harmony Rebekah Lodge # 96, in Canyon City, Colorado. In her spare time she enjoyed walking, swimming, listening to country and bluegrass music, and occasionally riding a motorcycle. She was best known to her family and friends as ?Little Grandma? and for giving wonderful rocking hugs. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mildred was a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends.
