Mildred Rickman (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mrs. Mildred Ellen Rickman, age 93 of Fair Play, MO passed away at 12:05 AM Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar after a lingering illness.
She was born in Fair Play, MO on January 21, 1918 the daughter of Gene Butler and Lula Ann (Thomason) Butler.
She was an assistant manager for cafeterias for Lake City Arsenal in Kansas City, MO. Had worked for Fun House Pizza in Blue Springs, MO, also worked in Independence, MO for Queen City Restaurant.
She was a 1936 Graduate of Fair Play High School where she was a basketball star for the Girls Basketball team.
Mildred was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fair Play, the Stockton Area-Missouri Council of the Blind.
She collected Best Choice Labels for the Stockton Council of the Blind and pop cans tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Springfield, MO.
Surviving is her son, Donnie J. Rickman and wife Marilyn of Flemington, MO; two sisters, Marie Davis of Fair Play, MO and Eujean Dody of Bolivar, MO; one brother William Kent Butler of Fair Play, MO. 3 grandchildren, Sherri Jo McCoy of Liberty, MO; Angela Kay Johnson of Blue Springs, MO; and Donnie James Rickman II and wife Kerry of Blue Springs, MO. 4 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Butler Chapel in Bolivar.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 2:30 PM at the Lindley Prairie Cemetery at Bear Creek in Cedar County with Dr. Ron McIntire officiating. Burial will be under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
