Mildred Rose Seiner (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mildred Rose (Derossett) Seiner, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away on her birthday, at the age of 96, on October 12, 2017, at Parkview Healthcare Facility, in Bolivar, Missouri.
She was born in Polk county to Lynn Samuel and Rose Elsie Derossett, the elder of two children. Mildred grew up on the family farm near the Pomme De Terre River and attended grade school at Wilmington, before graduating from Bolivar High School, in 1939. After high school she attended the Hoppins Beauty School. She owned and operated three different beauty shops in the area.
On April 12, 1941, she married H.E. “Buck” Seiner, and from this union three children were born. They were blessed with 59 years together, until his passing in August 2000.
Mildred was saved at 13 years old and joined the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a member her whole life. She served as the church pianist for many years.
She worked as the store manager for Horton’s clothing store in Bolivar for 25 years. One of her greatest accomplishments was being a loving mother and homemaker. Mildred was known for her cooking, but she also enjoyed working in the garden, sewing and knitting. She was very proud of her children and all of their achievements.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Rose; a brother, Richard L. Derossett; and her husband Buck Seiner.
Survivors include: three children, Gary Seiner, Shirley Sutherland, and her husband Bob, and Linda Bridges, and her husband Byron; three grandchildren, Ryan Sutherland, and his wife J’Nell, Nick Sutherland, and his wife Brianne, and Bretta Wyatt, and her husband Chris; and seven great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, on Monday, October 16, 2017, at the Butler Funeral Home, in Bolivar.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, on Monday, October 16, 2017, at the Butler Funeral Home, in Bolivar, with Brothers Doyle Mayfield and Gary Scurlock officiating. Burial will take place following the funeral at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, East of Bolivar.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund, care of Butler Funeral Home, 407 E. Broadway, Bolivar, Missouri, 65613.
