Mildred Shipley's Obituary
Mildred Maxine Shipley, age 83, of Mt. Vernon, MO. passed away at 2:35pm, Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon, MO. after a long illness. She was born November 15, 1925 in Wheatland, MO. to Robert LeRoy and Mandy Olive (Butler) Stevens. She was united in marriage to Cleo Shipley on November 2, 1946 in Polk County, MO. and to this union two sons were born. Cleo and Maxine made their home in Springfield, MO. for many years raising their family. She was a wonder ful mother and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Cleo on September 29, 2008. She is survived by her two sons; Gary Shipley and his wife Karen of Springfield, MO., and Lynn Shipley of Arlington, TX., a brother, Robert Gene Stevens and his wife Sue of Wheatland, MO., and four grandchildren, Nicole, Hunter, Brian and Amy Shipley. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, MO. with Rev. Nolan Carrier officiating. Burial will be under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO. A visitation will be held from 10-10:30am, Wednesday at the funeral home prior to going to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Season’s Hospice, 1354 E. Kingsley, Springfield, Missouri 65804. Friends may sign the guest book or send private condolences at www.butlerfuneralhome.com.
