Mildred I. Veasman (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mildred Irene Veasman, daughter of Victor Sylvester and Palmyra Davis Goodman, was born November 1, 1919, in Hancock, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, December 25, 2013, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Dixon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-four years, one month, and twenty-five days.
On October 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to Ashley Dean Veasman, and they shared fifty-five years before his passing on April 20, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three infant siblings, and three brothers, Howard, Harry, and Herman Goodman.
Mildred is survived by seven nephews, Howard Goodman, Melvin Goodman, and his wife, Alma, Jerry Goodman, and his wife, Jackie, all of Dixon, Missouri, Danny Goodman, and his wife, Debbie, of Jefferson City, Missouri, Charles Parker, and his wife, Grace, of Willard, Missouri, Maurice Parker, and his wife, Judy, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Charles Goodman, of the State of Mississippi; a niece, of Jackie Bedell, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; a number of great-nephews and great-nieces; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Hancock, Missouri, and graduated from Dixon High School. She then worked for the Dixon Post Office for a few years. After she and Dean were married, they made their home in the Dixon, Missouri area, and Mildred was a devoted homemaker to her husband, and also helped in the operation of their farms. Mildred also worked with her husband in operating the Veasman Hardware Store in Dixon. She and Dean then owned and operated a farm in Texas County, before moving to the Lebanon area. Mildred returned to Dixon shortly after her husband’s passing.
Mildred had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of First Christian Church in Dixon for many years.
In her spare time she enjoyed working crossword puzzles and reading. She and Dean also traveled extensively after retiring. She was a good manager and was steadfast and straight forward with her opinions and thoughts.
Mildred will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and many friends.
