Milfred Hammerbacher (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Milfred Dale Hammerbacher, 89, was born February 8, 1929 in Louisburg, MO, the son of Walter & Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Moore) Hammerbacher. He passed away March 30, 2018 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Long Lane, MO.
Milfred was saved in a revival at Lindley Creek Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 16. He graduated from Louisburg High School in 1946. He went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War. On September 12, 1954, he married Willo Dean Vest in Buffalo, MO. They moved to Raytown and he went to work for Hallmark Cards. They resided there until his retirement in 1989. After his retirement, they moved back to Buffalo. He was a member of the Louisburg Lions Club and the Lindley Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
Milfred was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Willo Dean; his parents; five siblings; and one granddaughter, Christy Hammerbacher. He is survived by his sons, Milfred Jr. (Spud) & wife Pat Hammerbacher of Waterloo, Ontario Canada and Scott & wife Roberta Hammerbacher of Buffalo, MO; one daughter, Skyla & husband Russ Weeks of Long Lane, MO; two grandsons, Tyler & wife Brittany Weeks who was an essential part of his caregiving and Billy & wife Jessi Dotson of Ohio; two granddaughters, Ashley Hammerbacher of San Francisco, CA and Kari & husband Ryan Lacson of Republic, MO; six great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Norma Vest of Buffalo, MO and Georgia Hammerbacher of Kansas; and one brother-in-law, Tuff Hamlet of Louisburg, MO. He also leaves a multitude of nephews, nieces, and friends who will all greatly miss him.
