Mina Darlene West (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Mina Darlene Lillard West, daughter of Claude and Mina L. Beal Wilson, was born October 21, 1945, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, September 26, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-six years, eleven months, and five days.
Early in her life she was united in marriage to R. G. Lillard, and to this union one daughter and one son were born. Mr. Lillard preceded her in death.
Later, she was married to Carl Gene West.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Bob Wilson; and a sister, Marlene Welch.
Darlene is survived by a son, Alan Lillard, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Carla Price, and her husband, Michael, of Belton, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Philip, Billy, Amanda, John, Rosetta, Doug, Lindsey, and Olivia; five great-grandchildren, Hailie, Issac, Jacob, Mariah, and Levi; two brothers, Leslie Wilson, and his wife, Ollie, and Benny Wilson, all of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Paulene Pruitt, of Springfield, Missouri, and Claudene Waterman, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri, area. After she and R. G. were married, they made their home mostly in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, Darlene was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Darlene had an appreciation for Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church and the members there.
In her spare time she enjoyed playing the lottery, and going to casinos, where she liked playing the slot machines. She also enjoyed going mushroom hunting, growing beautiful flowers, and had a love for animals, particularly cats and dogs. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Darlene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout her lifetime.
