Mintie Jane Henderson's Obituary
Mintie Jane Henderson, daughter of Richard Lee and Iva Nora Owen Hillhouse, was born February 6, 1905, in Marion County, Arkansas. She departed this life Sunday, June 25, 2006, in Glenwood Nursing Home, in Glenwood, Arkansas, at the age of one hundred and one years, four months, and nineteen days. On November 2, 1947, she was united in marriage to George Delmar Henderson who preceded her in death on May 24, 1978. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons Tommy Lee Henderson, Sr., and George Delmar Henderson, Jr.; and two infant sons. Mintie is survived by three sons, Alvin Henderson, and his wife, Lea, and John Duke, and his wife, Sue, all of Garden City, Kansas, and Willie Henderson, and his wife, Evelyn, of Springfield, Missouri; two daughters, Pansy Fagan, and her husband, Sonny, of Daisy, Arkansas, and Jewel Wolfe, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; twenty-two grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Rene McBride, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in Pontiac, Missouri and lived in Springfield since 1950 until moving to Glenwood, Arkansas to be closer to her family. Mintie had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Assembly of God Church, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. In her spare time she enjoyed showing her love by making beautiful quilts for her family, she loved canning and making pear honey and butter, and was also a wonderful gardener, she once raised a ten pound cabbage. Mintie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Mansfield. Burial will be in the Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri.
