Miriam Williams (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Miriam Frances Williams was born November 26, 1939 to Otto Hopkins and Marjorie Whipple Hopkins near Phillipsburg, Missouri. She passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 in her home in Lebanon, Missouri at the age of eighty-four years, one month and sixteen days.
She was raised in the Phillipsburg area and was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School. She was in the last class to graduate from Phillipsburg.
On September 24, 1960 she was united in marriage to Glen N. Williams and to this union, three children were born. They celebrated nearly forty-one years of marriage before Glen passed away June 25, 2001.
In addition to Glen, she was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Dorah, Eula, Melba, and Liz.
Miriam is survived by two daughters, Roxi Williams of Lebanon, Missouri and Kim Fuller of Springfield, Missouri; a son, Glen N. Williams, Jr. of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Cole, Tierra, Nekoda, April, Dane, Heather and Mickael; nine great-grandchildren, Alycea, Chase, Caleb, Cashy, Carter, Crosby, Hunter, Oakley and James; her brother, Otto Hopkins of Lebanon, Missouri; and her sister, Doris Michael of Kansas City, Missouri.
Miriam was a military wife for twenty-three years as Glen served in the United States Army. She was a wonderful mom to the children and kept the household going as Glen served in several different countries. After he retired from the military, they returned to the Phillipsburg area.
Miriam was a very caring person and was employed for several years as a nurse at area care centers and hospitals. Although she endured health struggles in her later years, she was an inspiration to her family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for Miriam Williams will be Wednesday, January 17 at 2 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 17 from 1 – 2 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in McBride Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Missouri Mental Health Foundation.
