Monte D Rife (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Monte D. Rife 69 of Lincoln, MO passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO. Monte was born in Clinton, MO on May 15, 1956 to Betty Sue Findley and Jerry Rife. Monte started playing baseball at the age of nine in Kansas City, MO. He continued playing the game through high school at Hickman Mills High School in then on to trying out for the Cincinnati Reds, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Indians of Indiana and twice for the Kansas City Royals. He was accepted to play by the Kansas City Royals but did not have the finances to go to Florida and play. He later became a letter carrier for the Kansas City, MO post office. He is preceded in death by his parents, Betty Sue and Jerry Rife and a brother, Mich. He is survived by wife, Donna Rife Lincoln, MO, brother, Danny (Lori) Rife), son, Brett (Amanda) Rife New Port News, VA, daughter, Sophia O'Neal Lee's Summit, MO, two grandsons and a granddaughter.
