Morgan Lewis (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mr. Morgan C. Lewis, age 81 of Springfield, MO passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 9:10 PM in the Brookhaven Health & Rehabilitation in Springfield, MO.
Mr. Lewis was born on April 23, 1931 in Clovis, CA the son of John Leonard Lewis and Mabel (Barton) Lewis where he spent most of his young life. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters and his wife Betty of 51 years.
He met Betty June (Judy) Eaton, the love of his life and they were married on June 3, 1950 in Reno, NV. To that union was born three children, Monty, Guy and Synthia.
At a young age Morgan worked at the Fresno Bee, delivering newspapers. It was then that he decided to be a cowboy and have a ranch. He made those dreams come true when he moved to Missouri in 1972. He also spent his adult life in the trucking industry until his retirement from Roadway Express in Strafford, MO in 1993.
He was a devoted husband and father and never met a stranger. He is survived by his three children, Monty Lewis and his wife, Lucy, Guy Lewis and his wife, Wilma and Synthia Appleby, all of Springfield, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Morgan will be missed by all that knew him.
