Murlin "Donnie" McCleary (Hartville)'s Obituary
Murlin Donald “Donnie” McCleary, son of James Troy and Venus Leolia Stigall McCleary, was born January 6, 1940 in Jerome, Idaho. He departed this life Thursday, October 1, 2015 near Manes, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, eight months, and twenty-five days.
On January 26, 1963, Donnie was united in marriage to Judith Ann Walker, and to this union three sons were born. He was later united in marriage to Sharon Sue Floyd on September 4, 2011.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bobbie McCleary, and a sister, Ima Faye Gammon.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of the home; sons, Micheal McCleary and wife Glenda, of Linwood, Kansas, Donavon McCleary, of Oskaloosa, Kansas, and Troy James and wife Alicia, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; a step-son, Justin Floyd and wife Ashley, of Marshfield, Missouri; two sisters, Annabelle Cantrell and husband Donald, of Niangua, Missouri, and Mary Pedersen and husband Gerald, of Hartville, Missouri; grandchildren, Lisa, Cory, Annabelle, Abigail, and Troy; and a step-granddaughter, Kinley; a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Donnie was born in Idaho and moved with his family to Hartville in 1944. He was a graduate of Hartville High School in the Class of 1958. Donnie proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne Division and was honorably discharged.
He later moved to Kansas City, Kansas, where he worked as a carpenter and owned and operated McCleary Carpentry until his retirement. He moved back to Hartville in 2011 to make his home.
Donnie had accepted Christ as his Savior and was attending the Hartville Freewill Baptist Church at the time of his passing.
Donnie was an avid fan of racing, especially dirt track racing and spent time with his sons building racing go-karts when they were younger. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Donnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and we will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends.
