Murlin W. "Pete" Kimrey (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Murlin W. “Pete” Kimrey, son of Elmer and Ruby Wolfe Kimrey, was born October 10, 1942, near Roby, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, June 14, 2020, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years, eight months, and four days.
In March of 2004, he was united in marriage to Jondalyn Hendley, and they shared sixteen years before her passing on May 31, 2020.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bob and Tom Kimrey; a sister, Vinita Bates; two step-brothers, Gene and Dan; and a brother-in-law, Elmer Rogers.
“Pete”, as he was called by his family and friends, is survived by two sons, Gregg Kimrey, of Buffalo, Missouri, and Steve B. Kimrey and his wife, Leaetta, of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Blake, Kaylea, Jordan, Zoey, Alise and Brannon; a great-grandchild, Haigen (who shared his birthday); a sister, Eda Marie Rogers, of Lebanon, Missouri, a brother-in-law, Lester Bates of Lebanon; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Evening Shade community and graduated from Plato High School. He worked as a home builder in Laclede, Camden, and Texas Counties for a number of years. He made his home in Marshall, Missouri for the last ten years.
Pete had attended Roby Christian Church.
In his spare time he enjoyed watching western movies and liked following his sons and grandchildren’s sporting events. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Pete was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
All arrangements for Pete Kimrey will be private under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
