Doc & Pug were very special to the Montgomery family and dear friends of Johnny & Marie. They shared a special connection as they were all married about the same time in Arkansas, then having moved to MO, they became acquainted through the cattle business and their church affiliation. Pug and Marie were somewhat "refined"-- Doc & Johnny, NOT!! Oh, the stories they could tell on their men.... if only we had recorded them!!!
Among some of my personal favorite memories of Pug is how she always made me feel welcome in her home. Specifically, at Thanksgiving as Kimmy & I had a plan; we would hit both families up for lunch/dinner depending on the schedule and I will never forget perusing through Pug's kitchen, over & over & over... we would spend hours eating there, it was a real eat-a-thon!! And she never seemed to care, in fact, she seemed amused. We also had a few sleepovers there and her home was a museum of sorts, full of love, laughter, beautiful antiques, charm and grace---
Another legend has passed and we will miss you Pug/Granny Shannon.....
xoxoxo,
