Myra Jerred (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Myra May Jerred, daughter of Jesse B. and Catherine Wiley Custer, was born September 20, 1929, in Jameson, Nebraska. She departed this life Tuesday, June 5, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years, eight months, and fifteen days.
In January of 1947, she was united in marriage to Rollin R. Jerred, and to this union two daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in November of 2009; a daughter, Phyllis Jerred; a brother, Stan Custer; and two sisters, Janet Custer and Opal White.
Myra is survived by a daughter, Cathy Rannow, of Conway, Missouri; a son, Bob Jerred, and his wife, Carla, of Griffith, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Lauren, Kevin, Bobby, Mike, Vincent, Paul, and Jessica; nineteen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Burton and Springview, Nebraska, where she graduated from high school. After she and Rollin were married, they made their home in various locations while Rollin worked in construction. They lived in Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota, Illinois, Indiana, Texas, and Missouri, and retired to Phillipsburg, Missouri in 1990. Throughout the years, she was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Myra had followed the Assembly of God faith until moving to Phillipsburg, and then she became a member of Phillipsburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidery, traveling, and playing board games. She also was an avid reader. She was a generous person who was always willing to help someone else. She loved her family dearly, and especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren.
Myra was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
