Myrtle Belle Allen (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Myrtle Belle Allen, daughter of Joel and Goldie Gennings Grimes, was born September 17, 1944, in Eldridge, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, May 1, 2019, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, seven months, and fourteen days.
On December 16, 1961, she was united in marriage to Billy Dean Allen, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Billy, on April 8, 2004.
Myrtle is survived by a daughter, Debbie Hill, and her husband, Daniel, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Joel Allen, and his wife, Lisa, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Rachel Stoner, Angie Lowrance, and her husband, B.J., Billy Deckard, and his wife, Trisha, and Elizabeth Edie, and her husband, Marvin; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Lilburn Grimes, of Eldridge, Missouri; a sister, Ilene Westbrook, of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Clyde Owens, and Leroy Webster; two sisters-in-law, Pauline McGuire, and Millie Allen; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Eldridge community, and attended Marple School. After she and Billy were married, they made their home in the Dove community, near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their children. Myrtle was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family and also worked as a trainer for the Laclede Development Center.
Myrtle had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Ira Missionary Baptist Church near Eldridge.
She was the peacemaker in the family and enjoyed taking her grandchildren fishing. She was often seen enjoying a Diet Coke. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Myrtle was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
