Nadine Rice (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Ellen Nadine Rice, age 88, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away early Wednesday morning, May 19, 2010 at Citizen’s Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 6, 1921 in Webster County, Missouri to Van Shaddy and Ila (Allen) Shaddy. Nadine’s first husband, Joe Brown, passed away in 1970. She then married Wayne Rice on June 3, 1978 in Niangua, Missouri.
Nadine was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, loved to collect recipe book and sewing. She was a member of the Grant Avenue Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Brown, one son, Carl Brown, her stepdaughter, Patricia Rice and her brother, Darrel Shaddy.
Nadine is survived by her husband, Wayne Rice of Bolivar, Missouri, two daughters, Janet Cantrell and her husband Richard of Springfield, Missouri, Joyce Hooser and her husband Paul of Overland Park, Kansas, a stepdaughter, Kenna Presley and her husband Ray of Bolivar, Missouri, 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Pastor Hosea Bilyeu officiating. Musical selections will be “Til The Storm Passes By” and “Amazing Grace”. Burial will follow at the Niangua Cemetery in Niangua, Missouri under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00pm Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
