Nadine (Vaughn) Terrill (Seymour)'s Obituary
Bessie Nadine (Vaughn) Terrill, daughter of John Raymond and Dortha Dell (Matney) Vaughn, was born April 20, 1934, in Ava, Missouri. She departed this life on Sunday, January 19, 2014, in her home near Seymour, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, seven months and one day.
Born and raised in the Ava area, Nadine, as she was known by her family and friends, enjoyed the Ozark outdoors. She moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, when she was fourteen. There she met and married Robert Parish and to this union a daughter and son were born. Nadine raised her children in the Oklahoma and California area before moving to Seymour in 1968. It was here that she met Delbert Wilbert Terrill and they were married in May of 1971. Together they built a life for their family on the farm near Seymour. Nadine is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Dwayne Terrill; sisters, Aileen Lee and Martha Miller; and brother, Harley Vaughn. She is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Delbert Terrill, of the home; daughter, Linda Knowles and husband Irvin, of Moore, Oklahoma; son, Robert Parish of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; stepchildren, Betty Belt; Freda Bookout and husband Jerry; Jack Terrill and wife Diana; Vickie Davis and husband Virgel; Rick Terrill; Becky Cantrell and husband Clarence; Steve Terrill and wife Maleta; Debbie Johnson and husband Bob; Reverend Mark Terrill and wife Sue; Donnie Terrill and wife Robbie, all of Seymour, Missouri; 32 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Lynn Vaughn of Olathe, Kansas; Allen Vaughn of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; and Wayne Vaughn of Willard, Missouri; several nephews and nieces; as well as a host of other dear family and friends. Although things weren’t always easy for Nadine, she never lost her sense of humor. When her children were young and asked for something in the store, Nadine smiled and said, “First thing Monday morning,” which meant sorry honey, we can’t have that. She loved her family and always put them first. She worked alongside Delbert on the family farm cutting wood and tending to the cows. Never one to be idle, Nadine worked at Burks Groceries and Terrill Groceries, as well as Hagle Factory. Nadine professed Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized by her stepson, Reverend Mark Terrill, alongside several of her family members, in Bryant Creek in 1993. She faithfully served her Lord by caring for her family and neighbors. She enjoyed listening to Jimmy Swaggart and loved any old Southern gospel hymns. She was a fan of Word Search puzzles and always had one nearby. Nadine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. We celebrate the life and accomplishments of Nadine Terrill. We will treasure every memory and each moment spent with her. We take comfort in knowing she is with her Lord and Savior and we will again see her one day. The Terrill Family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Nadine's memory to our community's first responders: Southern Webster County Fire Protection District, Seymour Municipal Fire Department or Logan-Rogersville Fire Department.
