Nadine Welch's Obituary
Edna Nadine Ivey Welch, daughter of Robert Edward and Lilly Mae Ware Winfrey, was born December 30, 1925, in Laclede County, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, January 25, 2008, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years, one month, and twenty-five days. On June 1 1946, she was united in marriage to Jessie Warren Ivey, and to this union two daughters and two sons were born. Mr. Ivey passed away on September 16, 1963. On December 17, 1982, Nadine married Harold Welch, who preceded her in death on August 18, 1987. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dennis Ivey; a brother, Doyle Winfrey; and a sister, Lottie Potter. Nadine is survived by a son, Darrell Ivey, and his wife, Pat, of Lebanon, Missouri; two daughters, Barbara Admire, and her husband, Kenneth, and Diana Massey, and her husband, Wesley, all of Phillipsburg, Missouri; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She was born and raised in the Blackfoot community and attended the Blackfoot School. After she and Jessie were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their children. In addition to being a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her family, Nadine also worked at the Rice Stix Factory for a few years. She then did housekeeping for several individuals and families in the Lebanon area for many years. Upon her marriage to Harold, they continued to make their home in the Lebanon area. Nadine made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of the Morgan Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors where her favorite activities were picking berries, mowing the lawn, and tending to her flowers. She also liked canning, cooking, sewing, and painting. She was very fond of animals and enjoyed raising chickens and dogs. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren. Nadine was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Ivey Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5 - 6:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
