Nancie Jean Johnson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Nancie Jean Johnson, daughter of Ed and Bessie Cannon Lynchard, was born January 20, 1937 in Lombardy, Mississippi. She departed this life Friday, June 5, 2020, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, four months, and sixteen days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Wanda Jean; and a son, H. C. “Dinky” Johnson.
Nancie is survived by two sons, Jim Johnson, and his wife, Deanna, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Larry W. Johnson, and his wife, Teresa, of Sedalia, Missouri; four brothers, Billy Lynchard and Lawrence Lynchard, both of Slidell, Mississippi, Buddy Lynchard of the State of Alabama, and Harvey Lynchard, of the State of Mississippi; three sisters, Ruby Robinson, of St. Louis, Missouri, Ruth Helbig, of Conroe, Texas, and Margie Meredith, of Memphis, Tennessee; several half-brothers and half-sisters; a number of nieces and nephews; a special friend, Clyde Berg, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised into a sharecropping family in Mississippi, where she graduated from high school. She traveled to various locations for the next few years with her husband who was serving in the United States Army. She was always a devoted homemaker and loving mother. She then made her home in Enterprise, Kansas for several years before moving to Lebanon, Missouri in 1994.
In her spare time she enjoyed working in her garden, growing beautiful flowers, listening to country music and singing. She also liked going to auctions and yard sales. She possessed a sweet disposition and loved her family dearly.
Nancie was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 11 at 6 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. A visitation will be held beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday and lasting until service time. Burial will be in Shaw Cemetery in Shaw, Mississippi.
A memorial has been established to St. Jude's Research Hospital.
