Nancy Ann Avey (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Nancy Ann Avey, daughter of the late Truman O. and Mabel Maggie (Montgomery) Haney was born on September 19, 1956 in Buffalo, MO and departed this life on May 18, 2022 in Osage Beach, MO. At the time of her passing she was 65 years, seven months, and 29 days of age.
Nancy was raised and attended school in Buffalo, MO and graduated from Buffalo High School. She was married to Paul E. Rhoden on July 12, 1975 and to this union one daughter, Amanda was born. Nancy worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. She enjoyed gardening, drawing, spending time with her dog Shadow, and drinking her all day coffee. She was a member of the VFW Post 3168 Auxiliary. Nancy was united in marriage to Thomas Avey on October 9, 2014 and together they made their home in Richland, MO.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother, Ronnie Haney; and one infant sister, Shirley. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Avey of the home; her daughter, Amanda Nimmo of Waynesville, MO; two grandchildren, Kaylee and her husband, Corey Caldwell and James Price; two great-grandchildren, Lexi and Callum Caldwell; three sisters, Darlene Haney of Bolivar, MO, Kay and her husband, Robert Plummer of Lebanon, MO, and Ruby Haney of Roby, MO; one brother, Clifford Haney; and one sister-in-law, Jennifer Avey of Rolla, MO and her children Clayton, Lilly, Paisley, and Izzy Beasley. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, Jessica, Steven, Clinton, Samantha, and Junior, other family members and many friends who will all truly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home. Escorts will be James Price, Thomas Avey, Glenn Roe, and Daniel Hargett. Interment will be in the Powell Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help with the funeral costs.
