Nancy Dennis (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Nancy Lou Dennis, daughter of Darwin and Hazel Huston, was born October 27, 1938, in Lima, Ohio, and departed this life on March 12, 2018, in The Maples Health and Rehabilitation in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, four months and fifteen.
On March 27, 1965, she was united in marriage to Walter Lee “Sonny” Dennis, and to this union four children were born. Sonny preceded her in death on May 20, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy; and brother, Gene.
Nancy is survived by three sons, Larry Dennis and wife, Lucinda, of Nixa, Missouri, Richard Dennis and wife, Della, and Jeff Dennis all of Springfield, Missouri; daughter, Debbie Nasser and husband, George, of Joplin, Missouri; seven grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Dick Huston of State of California; several nieces and nephew other relative and friends.
She was born in Ohio and moved with her family to California at the age of 6. She met Sonny in late 1964 and they were married in March of the next year. They lived in Simi Valley, California until they retired in 1995. After retiring, they moved to Branson, Missouri, where they ran the Cricket Creek Campground until Sonny’s sudden passing. Nancy moved back to California and then back to Springfield in 1997.
In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family.
Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the many great times we had with her.
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dennis Cemetery
