Nancy Nickle (Hartville)'s Obituary
Nancy Lou Nickle, daughter of Charles William and Rachel Ann Beckner Smith, was born March 5, 1945 in Lexington, Kentucky. She departed this life Monday, June 29, 2015 in Marshfield Care Center, Marshfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy years, three months, and twenty-four days.
On November 2, 1966, Nancy was united in marriage to Dowe “Dub” Nickle, Jr., and to this union a daughter was born.
Her parents; her husband, Dub, on August 8, 1993; a brother, Eddie Smith; and a sister, Maudie Cooper, preceded her in death.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Theresa Couch of Fordland, Missouri; granddaughter, Selena Wilkerson and husband Travis, of Fordland, Missouri; grandson, Jerry William Couch and wife Shanay, of Fair Grove, Missouri; great-granddaughter, Avery Couch; a brother, Oscar Smith of the state of California; sister-in-law, Joyce Smith of Lakewood, California; a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Nancy spent her younger years living in Kentucky and moved to Seattle, Washington following her graduation from high school. While living in Washington, Nancy met and married Dowe “Dub” Nickle. They remained in Washington until moving to Hartville in 1972. They spent a short time in California before moving back to Hartville in 1983.
Nancy was a devoted homemaker to her husband and daughter. Following the death of her husband, Nancy would meet her friends at Lazy Lee’s for coffee and conversation. She moved to Marshfield in the mid 2000’s to be closer to her daughter and granddaughter.
In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed watching TV, and spending time with her family.
Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has left for us.
